We are seeking a manager for NIVA’s office in Copenhagen, Denmark
NIVA’s (Norwegian Institute for Water Research) office in Denmark (NIVA Denmark), which was opened in autumn 2014, is expanding rapidly and has today five full-time staff who works out of Copenhagen. In addition, the office has several temporary staff working part-time. The Copenhagen office is fully integrated in NIVA that has its head office in Oslo, Norway, and is a non-profit research institute with close to 400 employees in Norway (including Akvaplan NIVA), Denmark, Chile and China. NIVA is well established in Denmark and undertakes a number of projects within the water and environment arena for clients such as the Ministry of Environment, the European Environment Agency, the Innovation Fund Denmark etc. We have a collaboration agreement with University of Copenhagen, Institute of Biology, and parts of our activities are undertaken at the Freshwater Biology Section. We see that our experiences and skills are sought after on the Danish market and the location of our office is furthermore ideal for activities in the Baltic region and Europe. We wish to develop our NIVA office in Denmark even further and if you could see yourself being part of this process and have an academic background in water-related issues, you could be a vital part of fulfilling this ambition as our new office manager.
As a manager you will be responsible for the office economy, internal meetings and administrative duties with support from NIVA’s administration. As regional office manager you will refer directly to NIVA’s Managing Director and be an integral part of NIVA’s extended leader group.
In addition to office management, you should support the development of our project portfolio and work in the crossroad between research and consulting, which is NIVA’s trademark. We expect projects to take two-third of your time and you will be part of one NIVA’s research sections.
You have a relevant degree, preferably a PhD, within water-related issues. You have documented experience in project acquisition, running projects and reporting with preferably some experience from the Danish marked. You should be able to document your capacity to produce significant external income and high standards in running and completing projects within deadlines. Management experience is preferable and a background from a consultancy firm or similar is an advantage. You should be a professional with good understanding of water related issues and committed to your work so that you from the beginning will add value of to our Copenhagen office.
